ABOUT UGRA
UGRA MEANS FIERCE IN SANSKRIT.
AND THAT’S WHAT WE BRING TO THE TABLE.
Fierce in design. Fierce in quality. Fierce in intent.
Ugra is for the ones who’ve always been told they’re too much- too loud, too bold, too everything. We say: good.
We make all-leather sculptures, shoes and bags, designed to be seen, felt, and remembered.
Each piece is handcrafted in India.
OUR STORY
Ugra was founded in 2024 by Debanti, a former journalist and brand storyteller with over 13 years of experience building narratives for D2C companies and startups. Also a lifelong heel lover, she couldn’t find heels that looked bold and felt good. So she built them. She leads design, vision, and storytelling at Ugra.
Her co-founder Bhaskar has spent over 15 years mastering the craft of shoemaking. He brings precision, discipline, and deep material expertise to every pair we make. Together, they built Ugra to prove that heels can be beautiful, sculptural, and still wearable.
OUR CORE BELIEF
We’re not here to feed overconsumption. The fashion industry already does enough of that.
We’re here to make fewer things, and make them well. Every Ugra product respects craft, heritage, and the people behind it.
To call something “luxury,” we believe it must:
1. Be repairable: Every Ugra piece is made to last, and made to be fixed. By us, or someone you trust.
2. Be slow-made: One pair at a time. Carefully, intentionally, only when it’s asked for.
3. Use Highest Quality Material: We use premium leather and top-quality hardware. Everything is chosen for comfort, and longevity.

OUR WORKSHOP
Every Ugra shoe is made by master artisans in India- the kind of craftspeople who know how to carve a last, align a strap, and stitch by feel. Trained in age-old leathercraft techniques, they’ve spent decades perfecting their skill.
By working directly with local shoemakers, we avoid mass production and stockpiles. Every order supports employment, preserves traditional craftsmanship, and ensures that every stitch, cut, and sole carries the mark of human excellence.
“I didn’t start Ugra to follow trends. I started it so you’d be heard, seen, and remembered.”
